Center For Rural Community Workshops
The Center For Rural Planning is pleased and excited to present the opportunity for you to participate in two kinds of community workshops.
The Community Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (CADR) program responds to the well-documented need for civil public dialogues, fair and effective decision-making processes, and the need for increased citizen knowledge and effective leadership. The program will initally offer three different workshop options: Dialogue Workshops, Decision-Making Policy Consensus Workshops, and Facilitative Leadership, Conflict Resolution, and Worldviews Workshops. We can tailor these conversations to meet the individual needs of your organizations.
Typically, these presentations last from 30 minutes to an hour. We will help you understand the components of our CADR program, the differences between dialogues, decision-making and the skills that facilitative leaders need to conduct those processes. We will also talk about what issues may be approached through dialogues and decision-making processes. And, we’ll talk about facilitative leadership.
The Comprehensive Plans and Zoning Ordinance Workshops are designed for hands on experiences for citizens, planning commission members, town board supervisors, county commissioners, and other decision makers to better understand the role of comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and tools to create the communities that people desire. Presenters at this workshop include: Sue Lawson, Planning Director; Center For Rural Planning Board Members Terry Frank and Dave Miller.
